As a member in good standing of the local classical community, I wear two hats by serving on the DPO’s Marketing Committee.  I am part of a team planning some special happenings around the National City Superpops Series concert on Oct 3/4 featuring fiddler Mark O’Connor.  I am so excited about this concert, as I absolutely love “Americana” genre music.  If you aren’t familiar, Mark O’Connor’s claim to fame is the Grammy-winning Appalachian Journey CD he released with Yo-Yo Ma and Edgar Meyer. It should be a great concert and will probably feature some pre-concert or intermission “fiddle” local entertainment.  Bill Carpenter, CEO of Hamilton Stands is heading the O’Connor planning team.
